I have in a separate despatch N.2620 of today's date informed Your Lordship that in my opinion this office should no longer be combined with that of Postmaster General, and I have submitted certain recommendations to Your Lordship in its regard.
The officers whose applications I now enclose are the following:-
Mr Walter Meredith Deane, C.M.G, Captain Superintendent of Police, and at present acting as Colonial Secretary.
Mr. Edward James Ackroyd, Registrar of the Supreme Court acting as Attorney General.
Mr Henry Ernest Wodehouse, Police Magistrate and Coroner, whom I have provisionally appointed to act as Treasurer.
